This car is a bit of a learning curve for me because of the added battery and electric motor. First thing I did was throw some new iridium plugs in it and check things over. It had 103,000 miles on it and I bought it at 97,000. I don't believe they are bad because I don't hear then and know this car had been really well maintained (which I know doesn't always mean anything). It only affects vehicles with Variable Valve Timing. It is generic, which means that it has the same meaning for the Chevy Equinox, as it would any other vehicle. P0013 is a somewhat frequent OBDII trouble code. If these don't fix it I guess I will have a spare fuel pump and will then need to look at the camshaft. Intake camshaft and valve lifter replacement Perform the diagnostic repair verification after completing the diagnostic procedureįuel injection fuel rail pressure sensor replacement. If less than infinite resistance, replace the high pressure fuel pump. Incorrect camshaft timing (due to failing timing belt or chain) Failed VVT solenoid. Stuck open timing valve control solenoid. Defective wiring with the intake timing control system. Test for infinite resistance between each terminal and the G18 High pressure fuel pump housing. The majority of the P0011 code causes relate to the camshaft or wiring issues with the vital part. If not between 9-11 ohms, replace the high pressure fuel pump. Test for 9-11 Ohms at 77☏ between the high control circuit, terminal 2, and the low control circuit, terminal 1. Note: The DMM and test leads must be calibrated to 0 ohms in order to prevent misdiagnosis. ![]() Ignition off, disconnect the harness connector at the G18 High Pressure fuel pump Test or replace the G18 High Pressure fuel pump If the loves have unusual wear or are worn, replace the camshaft. Verify the lobes on the camshaft do not have unusual wear or are worn. If something fails during the test, I can direct you from that point. Here are the major symptoms of P0017 in the Equinox: Failure to start. When this timing is off, the engine will typically not run (or barely run). The crank and cam sensors work in tandem to produce the ideal air/fuel ratio for your engine. Go through them and let me know what you find. P0017 should be considered an important trouble code to diagnose and repair. The code indicates the fuel pressure is too high, which I believe you already know.
